We are happy to announce the first edition of LOQCathon (Linear Optical Quantum Computation hackathon), a quantum hackathon about linear optical computation based through the Perceval software framework. It’s a 3-day event that will take place from November 7th to 9th at Jussieu - Sorbonne Université, 4 place Jussieu, 75005 Paris. Quandela and QICS are organising this year’s event, sponsored by OVH, the France Hybrid HPC Quantum Initiative and région Île-de-France. The hackathon will kick off with talks from the world-renowned scientists Alexia Auffèves, Ernesto Galvão and Nicolas Quesada. The event is open to students, researchers and professionals interested in better understanding Linear Optical Quantum Computation. Travel grants are available for students from outside the Paris region (details on how to apply for them available on the registration link).
Teams of 5 will compete to propose the best quantum solutions to a selection of real-world challenges, with cash prizes totalling €6000 which will be divided among the top three teams.
More information about the event and on how to pre-register can be found on the dedicated website (limited to 60 tickets, so hurry!). The event is free of charge, but a pre-registration is required before the 14th of October!
Looking forward to seeing you there.
